چکیده
We investigate the spectral relationships between electromagnetic (EM) enhancement and surface-enhanced resonant Raman scattering (SERRS) with fluorescence (SEF), which is observed as background emission of SERRS, in context light–matter interactions subradiant plasmons molecular excitons, using single silver nanoparticle dimers a model system. focus on lowest-energy (superradiant) plasmon far-field to examine EM enhancement. classify into two types: those envelopes SERRS SEF have shapes similar resonance exhibit higher energy shifts than resonance. By examining these results, we aim determine degree morphological asymmetry based an mechanism. Our analysis types reveals that dipole–dipole dipole–quadrupole-coupled (subradiant resonance) are responsible for

Cascaded plasmon resonant field enhancement in nanoparticle dimers in the point dipole limit
Cascaded field enhancement in silver dimer nanostructures is investigated using a dipole-dipole interaction model. Field enhancement spectra are evaluated as a function of the particle size difference and inter-particle spacing. We observe three distinct regimes of cascaded field enhancement: hindered cascading, multiplicative cascading, and the ultimate cascading limit, depending on the dimer ...
متن کاملPlasmon Hybridization in Nanoparticle Dimers
We apply the recently developed plasmon hybridization method to nanoparticle dimers, providing a simple and intuitive description of how the energy and excitation cross sections of dimer plasmons depend on nanoparticle separation. We show that the dimer plasmons can be viewed as bonding and antibonding combinations, i.e., hybridization of the individual nanoparticle plasmons. The calculated pla...
متن کاملPhotothermal response enhancement in heterogeneous plasmon-resonant nanoparticle trimers
The optical response of heterogeneous plasmonic trimer structures composed of a silver nanoparticle dimer and a central gold nanoparticle is investigated analytically and numerically. The plasmon resonance of the silver dimer is controlled through near-field coupling, resulting in plasmon resonance frequency matching of the silver dimer and gold monomer. This coupling condition makes it possibl...
متن کاملCorrect spectral conversion between surface-enhanced raman and plasmon resonance scattering from nanoparticle dimers for single-molecule detection.
Simultaneous measurement of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) in nanoparticle dimers presents outstanding opportunities in molecular identification and in the elucidation of physical properties, such as the size, distance, and deformation of target species. SERS-LSPR instrumentation exists and has been used under limited conditions, but the ...
متن کاملPlasmon coupled nanoparticle arrays for fluorescence, photoluminescence and Raman scattering enhancement
We study the enhancement of the fluorescence an photoluminescence by large homogeneous arrays of plasmon coupled 5-8 nm Au and Ag nanoparticle separated by distances less than 10 nm. A red shift of the major “symmetric” plasmon mode near 780 nm, and additional “anti-symmetric” plasmon mode centered near 310 nm evidence the plasmon coupling in Au particle arrays. The systems were found to be eff...
